The Word and Worship – Letting Scripture Fuel Our Praise

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”— Colossians

3:16 (ESV) Worship is our heart's response to who God is and what He has done. And one of the most powerful ways to deepen that response is by letting Scripture fuel our praise. When God's Word dwells richly within us, it stirs our hearts to worship Him with clarity, truth, and passion. The Bible reveals the character of God—His holiness, love, mercy, justice, and faithfulness. As we read His Word, we're reminded of His mighty acts and His constant presence. These truths lead us not just to understand God more, but to adore Him more deeply. Colossians 3:16 shows that the Word and worship are deeply connected. When Scripture fills our hearts, it overflows into songs, gratitude, and shared encouragement. Whether in private prayer, singing with others, or living a life of obedience, worship flows naturally from a heart anchored in God's truth. So when your words run dry or your emotions feel dull, return to the Word. Let the Psalms give voice to your praise. Let the Gospels remind you of Christ's love. Let the promises of God move your heart to sing.
